As part of the Port Alfred Easter Festival, The Good Time Fair is coming to the Kowie from 10am right into the evening on Friday the 29th of March, uniting Wharf Street and Van Der Riet Street for the first time. All shops and restaurants will be open to join in the celebration.

The Good Time Fair kicks off The Port Alfred Easter Festival in style. The Easter Festival is a town-wide celebration uniting a multitude of events and attractions all over Port Alfred for everyone and their families to enjoy.

Get ready for a day filled with entertainment, delicious food, refreshing drinks, live music, and bustling markets.
The fun starts on Van Der Riet Street with a jumping castle, Easter Egg hunt, and mouth-watering breakfasts and lunches from 10am to 3pm. Then take a stroll over Putt Bridge to Wharf Street from 3pm for an afternoon and evening of live music, a second market, vibrant lights, tasty street food, two landmark restaurants to cater to your every whim, karaoke, a wife carrying competition (win your wife’s weight in beer!) and even a thrilling walk-the-plank challenge right into the Kowie River!

10.30 am Karate demonstration with Sensei Clive.
11:00 am Easter egg hunt for ages 10 and under. R50 per entry.
11.30 am Easter biscuit decorating. R20 per biscuit.

Eighteen26 and the Wharf Street Pub and Grill will have buckets outside their restaurants – Eighteen26 the beer and the Pub and Grill the apples

The Kowie Koei Kak Betting Square

Hosted by the Tab – place a bet on the square that the cow (or goat) decides to relieve themselves and stand the chance to win 50% of the takings.

Strongest Man (or Woman) Challenge

Hoist a 30 litre can of beer into the air and see how long you can stand the burn

Friday Lunch and Dinner

The Lady Biscay is extending their famous Friday lunch into an all day and evening affair – for the first time you’ll be able to have dinner on the boat as well as lunch

The famous Wife Carrying Race begins – run through the gauntlet and stand a chance to win your wife’s weight in beer!

4pm

Walk the Plank with Spargs Furnishers

4pm – 6pm

Parent and Prawn Fishing Competition – all children entering must be accompanied by a parent for the event.

6pm

The band Midnight Buzz will be live on the street and continue until 9pm

8pm

Karaoke at the Tab begins and continues until late

10pm

The Wharf Street Pub and Grill will have a dance party in their infamous Dungeon from 10pm – dance your socks off until 12am!
