Port Alfred—Saturday, the second day of the Port Alfred Easter Festival, will be full of activities. While the Rip Curl GromSearch and the Rip Curl Cup, both presented by Royal St Andrews Hotel and supported Sea Harvest, and the Species Spectacular Fishing Competition will resume, many contests, races, and tournaments will kick off in the morning.
Bodyboarding, Bowls and Croquet
The SA Bodyboarding Challenge starts at 8 am at West Beach, and the Bowls and Croquet tournaments begin at the Port Alfred Bowling and Croquet Club at 9 am.
Running, Cycling, Swimming and the Lazy Tri
Jogging starts at 9 am for the Port Alfred parkrun at the PA Library. This is the start of the ‘Unofficial Lazy Triathlon’, as the parkrun is followed by the Cycle Asylum 10Km Fun Ride at 10 am, starting and finishing at the Royal St Andrews Hotel. The culmination of the ‘Unofficial Tri’ is the Sports n All 1KM Marina Swim, beginning at noon at the slipway outside the Halyards Hotel. Amongst it all is the Royal Port Alfred Golf Club Easter 2 Ball Alliance, which has an 11 am tee-off.
Bands At The Beach
Save your energy, though, because the real party starts when we have the big Port Alfred Easter Festival moment, the Bands At The Beach Music Festival.
Georgetown, Arno Carstens, Wonderboom, aKING, and December Streets are all performing, and it will be huge.
The music starts at 16:00, and tickets are available at QUICKET or at the door. Sales have been brisk, but tickets are still available, so get yours quickly!
DJ’s At The Beach
This is followed by the DJs at Guido’s. Max Hurrel, DJ Neill and DJ MGB for DJs AT THE BEACH at GUIDO’S BEACH BAR! This will go until late.
