Four Elements Festival Returns to Wharf Street, Port Alfred – 04 April 2026

The Four Elements Festival returns to Wharf Street in Port Alfred on 04 April 2026, delivering a full day of entertainment, competition, local flavour and community energy. From early morning markets to live music after sunset, this annual event brings together families, food lovers, sports fans and festivalgoers for one packed programme.

Wife-Carrying Race With a Competitive Twist

One of the headline attractions is the ever-popular Wife-Carrying Race, where the winning couple takes home the wife’s weight in beer. This year introduces an added incentive. If the winning pair represents a sports club, business or community organisation, their team will also receive an additional 50 litres of beer from Kraft Alchemy Brewery.

Entries are limited to 25 couples. Early registration at the brewery is essential to secure a place on the start line.

Morning Markets and High-Energy Displays

The festival begins at 08h00 with a vibrant Craft Market lining Wharf Street. Visitors can browse local vendors, enjoy food stalls and soak up the atmosphere as the day unfolds.

Morning highlights include the Car Show, TyreMart displays and a Tiger Moths flyover, weather permitting. There will be photo sessions, live bands and a festival photo booth creating a steady rhythm of activity before midday. Younger visitors can take part in the Bunny Rabbit and Easter Egg Hunt, adding a family-friendly dimension to the programme.

Throughout the day, Kraft Alchemy Brewery will be serving its full range of craft beers, anchoring the festival experience at the heart of Wharf Street.

Afternoon Competitions and New Additions

As the afternoon builds, competitive spirit takes centre stage. The Potjie Cook-Off will showcase local culinary talent, while the Beer Packaging Design competition adds a creative edge.

The Wife-Carrying Race promises drama and crowd support, while the brand-new Wheelbarrow Race introduces fresh energy to the programme. Proudly sponsored by Port Alfred’s local hardware stores, this new event is limited to 25 teams, with entries handled at the Little Brewery.

Additional highlights include a live Painting Demo, Boat Rides, the popular Discount Dice Roll and a strong line-up of live bands carrying the festival through to evening.

With activities running from morning until night, the Four Elements Festival offers a complete day out on Wharf Street. It combines competition, creativity, craft beer and community spirit into one of Port Alfred’s standout events for 2026.

This year, the Round Table 177 Port Alfred joins the festival family to play their part in creating an unforgettable experience for everyone!

Get ready for some fantastic entertainment! Joining us is the fabulous Twane from Fella’s Dance and Fitness Academy, The Art of Movement, who will curate a stunning fancy dress and beauty pageant. Plus, the talented Kyle and Carissa and the team from Sha-Loui

Dance School will be performing captivating choreographed dances that you won’t want to miss!

It will be an unforgettable day filled with exciting entertainment, delicious food, and spectacular beer from our very own brewery, Kraft Alchemy! Experience the best of our community as we celebrate all the elements that bring us together as part of the Port Alfred Easter Festival 2025.
