This year the Port Alfred Easter Festival Expands with an extra surfing competition to kick off the festivities and a second night of top-tier performances at the Bands Innie Bush Music Festival. With a diverse schedule featuring street markets, artisanal food and craft stalls, and a variety of sporting events—including running, cycling, bodyboarding, bowls, and boxing—there’s something for everyone. Families can also look forward to a weekend filled with engaging activities and entertainment.

The Bands Innie Bush Music Festival will showcase ten renowned South African artists at its exciting new venue near Rosehill Mall. Limited VIP tickets are available, offering exclusive access to a designated VIP area with a private bar and seating, plus:

All proceeds from the Bands Innie Bush Music Festival will support NSRI Station 11 Port Alfred, which will also oversee water safety for the festival’s surfing and bodyboarding events.

April 16 – 17: Royal St Andrews Hotel SA Open Surfing Championships, Presented by Rip Curl, celebrating 60 years of this iconic competition.
April 18 – 20: Rip Curl GromSearch presented by Royal St Andrews Hotel.
South Africa’s top young surfers battle for GromSearch honours.
April 21: Rip Curl Cup presented by Royal St Andrews Hotel.
A one-day shootout with R75,000 in prize money, bringing the festival’s surf competitions to an exciting close.
All surf events will take place at East Beach.
