Bowls and Croquet at the Port Alfred Easter Festival – Quick Facts
With R17,000 worth of prizes at the Bowls and Croquet events at the Port Alfred Easter Festival, we need to have a closer look at what’s going on at those well-manicured greens and cosy pub of the Port Alfred Bowls and Croquet Club.
What are these events?
They are the Edge Finance Easter Festival Bowls Tournament and the Easter Festival Croquet Level Doubles event. They both form part of the Port Alfred Easter Festival that takes place from 18 – 21 April 2025. Events include surfing tournaments, the Bands Innie Bush music fest, bodyboarding, golf, running, boxing, as well as bowls and croquet, street fairs and a whole lot more
Will there be prize money for these events?
Oh yes! There is R10,000 worth of prizes in the EDGE Finance Easter Festival Bowls Tournament. Further, there is R7,000 worth of prizes at the Easter Festival Croquet Level Doubles.
Where are we going
Straight to the PABBC, the Port Alfred Bowls and Croquet Club. Find them on Facebook.

When are we going to be there?
The bowls tournament is on Saturday, 19th and Sunday, 20th April. You can get more details from Hein at heinsmail@gmail.com.

What sort of formats are we looking at?
For the bowls, the format is:
- 2 Bowl Pairs, any gender
- 28 teams over 2 days.
- End 5 and 6 – Skip and Lead swap positions.
- 10 ends per game (4,3,2,1 scoring).
For the croquet, the format is:
- Level Doubles.
- Entry is limited to 16 teams.
- 4 blocks of 4 teams per block.
What about refreshments and food?
At the bowls tournament, there are morning rusks, lunch, dinner, braai packs and snacks available.
At the croquet, breakfast, lunch, and snacks are available.
