The Port Alfred Easter Festival delivered another standout moment with the Port Alfred Bowling and Croquet Club Easter Bowls Tournament, sponsored by Edge Financial Group.
A total of 28 teams from nine clubs took to the greens, bringing energy, colour, and competitive spirit across two days of play.

Strong Field and Standout Performances
Players embraced the Easter atmosphere with brightly coloured outfits and bunny ears, adding a festive edge to a highly competitive tournament.
Action unfolded across Saturday and Sunday, with consistent performances separating the top contenders from a strong field.
Willie Basson and Letitia Botha from Kenton Bowling Club held their nerve and delivered a composed campaign to secure overall victory.
Close behind, Weeries Pienaar and Clara Lombard from Western Suburbs finished as runners-up after a solid showing throughout the event.
The level of play remained high across both days, with teams pushing hard in every match and maintaining pressure right
through to the final rounds.

Community Spirit on Display
Beyond the competition, the tournament reinforced the strong sense of community that defines the Port Alfred Easter Festival.
At the prizegiving, players and supporters gathered to celebrate both performance and participation.
In a highlight moment, Ed Gutsche presented a R25,000 donation to the Port Alfred and Ndlambe District SPCA, adding meaningful impact to an already successful event.

Festival Energy Continues
The Easter Bowls Tournament once again proved its place as a key part of the festival programme.
With strong participation, competitive bowls, and genuine community connection, the event continues to grow in stature each year.
It remains a firm favourite on the Easter calendar, blending sport, social energy, and local support in one well-run tournament.
