Juniors and adults brought their A-games to make the two-day Port Alfred Easter Tennis Tournament a smash.
Junior Tennis Tournament
The Port Alfred Easter Festival presented by Sunshine Coast Port Alfred Tourism held a Junior Tennis Tournament on March 30th at the Port Alfred Tennis Club. The tournament featured a Round Robin format, with participants divided into two sections for singles matches. So, young talent from various backgrounds participated in the tournament, and the winners received Debonairs vouchers as prizes. Also, the presence of Makenzie Jackson from Zanzibar added an international flavour to the event. This showcased the festival’s inclusive nature and appealed to players beyond local borders.
In Section 1, Qiqa Xamesi won the tournament, displaying skill and determination on the court. Thereafter, in Section 2, Conner Venter demonstrated exceptional talent to clinch victory. Thus, each player had the opportunity to compete extensively, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for all participants. The highest scores determined the winners, emphasizing consistency and performance throughout the tournament.

Adult Tennis Tournament A Smash
The Men’s Doubles Tournament was held on March 31st at the Port Alfred Tennis Club. Part of the Port Alfred Easter Festival. The event attracted seasoned players eager to test their skills against formidable opponents.
The Men’s Doubles competition featured a Round Robin format. This ensured ample opportunities for teams to showcase their chemistry and coordination on the court. The level of tennis displayed was of remarkable quality, reflecting the dedication and training of the participants.

Phuti Senyatsi and Grant Acton emerged as the victors, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and strategic play throughout the tournament. Their success highlights the importance of communication and synergy in doubles tennis. It also demonstrated as the significance of experience and skill in clinching victories.
