Exploring Port Alfred: A Journey Through History at the Kowie Museum
The Kowie Museum in Port Alfred invites you to embark on a captivating journey through our local history and culture. Located in the heart of the Eastern Cape, this museum serves as a window into the past, offering a peek into the heritage of the region.
Explore Port Alfred’s maritime history, learn about early settlers, and discover the traditions of the Khoisan people. With exhibits ranging from archaeological finds to colonial artifacts, we aim to paint a picture of the area’s past.
Join us as we open our doors to the public on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday (28-30 March and 1 April) from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Admission is R20 per person, with a discounted rate of R10 available for scholars and learners. Come and dive into the history of Port Alfred with us at the Kowie Museum!
